The Chef

One of Knútur and Helena’s many neighbours and colleagues is chef Jón K.B. Sigfússon, who has developed and designed all our food products for The Little Tomato Shop and the restaurant, working closely with the couple. Jón has many years of experience from around the world, and has cooked for many heads of state. Jón, who is also a talented photographer, took many of the photographs that appear on the Friðheimar website and tourist literature, and at the exhibition in the Atrium on geothermal horticulture.

We have opened

Vínstofa Friðheima - Winebar & Bistro

Friðheimar Winebar & Bistro is a restaurant, bar and workspace located in one of our oldest greenhouses on the Friðheimar estate. Here, you can enjoy a quality glass of wine or a light meal, meet friends, read a book, or get some work done. You are warmly welcome, with no need to book in advance.
The Winebar is open from 1 pm to 10 pm every day and the kitchen closes at 8 pm.

At the Winebar, we offer three fully-equipped meeting rooms, ideal for meetings and workshops for workplaces and smaller groups (maximum 20 people). Bookings can be made through [email protected]

The Little Tomato Shop

You can find various products made from our harvest in our Little Tomato Shop. The shop is open daily from 9:00 to 17:00 and 24 hours a day online. You can both order and pick it up from us at Friðheimar and have it delivered to your home.
